Stagefright X-ploit

Most people who follow smartphone news, especially android lovers, have heard of the Stagefright exploit that was found in Android, way back in July. This already month old discovered security flaw allows a hacker to target a phone simply given the user's phone number, that makes one question allegiance to an open ecosystem...

Google has reportedly begun pushing out patches to its own Nexus family of devices, however to my knowledge, no other manufacturers have pushed any update for the vulnerability. On a personal note, I've still got my 2013 built Nexus 5, and still haven't gotten an update. (Unless the build number doesnt update to reflect the patch)

I think that exposing these security vulnerabilities is exactly what is needed to push lackadaisical manufacturers to get on the ball, and push out timely OS and Security updates.
