Google's flagship Android phone, the Nexus One, debuted in early 2010. A year and half later, it still holds its own against many modern Android phones, and maintains a very strong developer following on sites such as XDA. It's also my primary Android phone. I'm very picky about what Android phone I choose, so that should say something.

This phone rocks. The 3.7" Super AMOLED screen combined with the 1Ghz SnapDragon CPU zip through apps, and plays back hardware decoded H.264 video, as well as software decoded AVI, DIVX, etc, with no issues . The Nexus is a "Pure Google" Approach, with no proprietary layer of software on top such as HTC's "Sense", or Samsung's "TouchWiz." Sure those layers add some functionality, but many people have mixed feelings about whether they add or detract from the experience.

Current Software Build/Tweaks

> Gingerbread 2.3.4, APPS2SD, an XDA Flavor, this build has minimal tweaks. I dont use CM Mods since they use more power whenever I tried them before, aka 6, 7, etc.

> AmonRa 2.1.1 Recovery

> ADW Launcher, Totally customized, no icons on screen

> Ownhere Modded Google Maps for INTL Nav.

> Modified Skype version courtesy of XDA

> Screen Density: Set to 240 (Fits more on screen for

Most all of this is possible due to the hard work of many developers at XDA Developers, hands down the best Android resource on the web.

Notice the increased number of menu items displayed due to raising the LCD Density

P.S...

Check this out for SonDambi's Super AMOLED Dance :) This was a promo video to market the AMOLED screen
